Bullying behavior that involves student to student aggression may be reported to any SCUSD employee or administrator verbally or in writing. Although not required, the district’s Report of Suspected Bullying Form may be used to make a report.
Exciting news for the 2016-17 school year: To improve our service to families and students, we are giving teachers dedicated time every week to plan together. Research shows that educators who collaboratively discuss and plan their work are more effective in the classroom.
To accommodate this collaborative time, we will be adjusting bell schedules for the fall and releasing students early on Thursdays. All other days, students will stay in school a little longer than last year. Please see our new bell schedule for details.
We are very proud of all of the accomplishments at MLK. Our staff is committed to making an impact on student learning by providing a wide range of learning experiences. We welcome everyone to visit our campus and you will immediately see and feel that our learning environment supports student learning. We have worked very hard in helping our students to develop the necessary skills to have a greater voice for their thoughts and ideas. We are at the forefront in integrating technology as a way to change our pedagogical practices and to increase student engagement.
School Cents at Arden Fair presented MLK with a $1,500 cash award and a school assembly during 2015-16 school year. A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped us achieve Third Place! With your help — students, family & friends, and teachers/staff — we will strive to get First or Second Place this year. The program runs August 1, 2016 to April 30, 2017.
