The dress code at Martin Luther King, Jr. K-8 School has been developed to set a standard that is considered appropriate for a K-8 learning environment. All students are expected to be neat and clean and to wear apparel that is appropriate in a K-8 setting.
The following are not considered appropriate at Martin Luther King, Jr. K-8 School.
Though students are permitted to carry their cell phones during the school day, use of cell phones are prohibited during school hours. Cell phones must be turned off and removed from visibility during school hours. Forgetting to turn the cell phone off is not an acceptable excuse.
In order to start volunteering, you need to have the following items on file with your school:
1. A current and completed volunteer registration form.
2. A copy of a recent TB Test or chest x-ray form/ card indicating a negative result.
3. A completed and cleared Volunteer Sex Offender Check Authorization Form or a completed and cleared Volunteer Fingerprinting and Criminal Background Check or current fingerprinting on fine with district.

Bullying behavior that involves student to student aggression may be reported to any SCUSD employee or administrator verbally or in writing. Although not required, the district’s Report of Suspected Bullying Form may be used to make a report.
